During the late 80’s and the 90’s, Super Cat took the Jamaican Dancehall scene to a higher level. He was amongst the pioneers who dared to crossover the barrier of genres between Reggae, Dancehall and Hip Hop, which resulted in outbreaking collaborations with illustrious East Coast rapper Notorious B.I.G.Kriss Kross, and R’n’B quartet 112 to name a few.

After a lenghty absence during the past decades, Super Cat aka the Wild Apache decided to come back under the spotlight. He performed at the annual Reggae Dancehall festival Sting in Jamaica. Super Cat is an iconic figure of the Dancehall scene who must not be forgotten.

Some of you might not even know who he is and what he achieved in his career because it mostly happened before you (and I) were born. Still, it’s important to know the roots of Dancehall music for better understanding of its evolution and I believe the few songs of Super Cat I am sharing with you today are must-listen tracks, which paved the way for Dancehall to be spread out of Jamaica.

Listen to these Super Cat‘s songs, let us know what you think of them. Do not hesitate download, share and comment.
