Dubs Full Hundred ft. Massive B [USA] & Sentinel [GER] in Geneva [Switzerland]
“Dubplates playing in Geneva tonight”, will be the motto of a very special night at Halle W on Saturday, 02/04/17.
Many fans of the authentic, hardcore soundsystem culture are desperately in need of events that highlight dubs. Indeed, sound clashes are noticeably on a decline and dubplates are getting played less and less at juggling dances.
After legendary editions of “Dubs Full Hundred” with first class clash-sounds and selectors like David Rodigan, Mighty Crown or Bass Odyssey, the SENTINEL crew thought it was time to also represent the juggling side of the sound system business at their notorious dubplate-only event series.
Massive B is gonna mash up the dance
MASSIVE B is one of the most active, most influential and most famous juggling sounds in the US. With a show on the globally known Hip Hop radio station HOT97 and a feature on the video game blockbuster Grand Theft Auto, it obviously seemed to be the best choice that Massive B should be the first juggling sound to mash up a “Dubs Full Hundred” dance.
Other than the dub box of renowned clash-sounds, which fans know inside out, Massive B‘s dubplate library is much more of a mystery.
Although it is well known, that Bobby Konders, Jabba and their crew sit on tons of great specials, they don’t really expose them too often. Even less do they play strictly dubplate selections on a regular basis.
Keeping this in mind, and remembering that Bobby Konders worked with every big artist in the Reggae business, some big surprises can be expected for that night. However, it’s not Massive B alone, that one should look forward to.
The past editions never saw Sentinel giving less than a top-notch performance themselves. Since founded in 1998, the German Luger Sound piled up one of the greatest, deadliest and most exclusive dubplate-arsenals in Europe. With that being said, every soundsystem enthusiast should know, that this is event must not be missed.
