According to CNN, marijuana lovers take 420 weekend to new heights since cannabis has been legalized in Colorado.
On the first hand, legalization of ganja is a good thing because I do not think it should be considered as a “drug”. It grows naturally like any other plants…from a seed planted in the soil. Chemically speaking it is a drug since it has an effect on your body. Muscles relax, pupils dilate, you feel sleepy and you get the munchies… But salicylic acid —aspirin — is a chemical isolated from a plant, which has effects on your body and it is sold without any problem…
And even worse than that alcohol and tobacco are legal even though they are “drugs” that cause cancers and/or incurable diseases. Someone should explain me what’s the difference between the way nicotine works on your brain and tetrahydrocannabinol? What scientific theory led to the decision that marijuana should not be legal… Selling cigs and alcohol is (probably) more lucrative even though it kills more people…I think that Babywrong might not like it when we hold a meditation. And seriously, I don’t think that someone who’s high is more dangerous than someone who’s drunk.
On the other hand, if marijuana becomes legal everywhere I am afraid that they start industrializing it and it becomes as bad as cigarettes… but at least people won’t be arrested for “illegal possession of marijuana” which is quite stupid since it is just a plant. Whether you sell it or smoke it, you are not robbing anyone nor hurting him/her. Anyway, all I hope is that it will remain ITAL if it becomes legal everywhere.
