Matthew Radics – The One Eye Man EP

Matthew Radics - The One Eye Man EP Front Cover original

“The One Eye Man” by Matthew Radics, a compelling EP: when Reggae meets Hip Hop

Some of you might be thinking this EP is about secret societies and Illuminati or whatever an eye on a pyramid might mean to you. But don’t judge the book by the cover! If you like underground hip hop and nitty gritty old school samples, give it a try.“The One Eye Man” is the very first solo project of Matthew Radics, released under his own independent label SoundKillaz Music. I do not know much about Matthew Radics‘ work so I didn’t know what to expect from this EP. But to be honest with you, I am quite surprised. On the production side, it sounds fresh. Every beat has its own flavor and sound unique. I particularly love the way UK-based producer Whodiniz  rejuvenated old classics of Rocksteady such as Over the Rainbow’s End” by The Gaylads or “Riding High On a Windy Day” by The Paragons, fusing it with Hip Hop.Lyrically, Matthew juggles between relationship issues (“Break Her Heart”), clubbing (“Wine Yu Waist”), socially charged issues (“1 Eye Man”). For instance “Like a Ninja” is a deep Hip Hop song, in which Matthew Radics alongside his fellow rappers denounce the hostility of politics. Musically, his flow that crosses between rapping and deejaying, is pleasant to listen to even though it’s not perfectly tight and the pitch of his harmonies needs fine-tuning.The “One Eye Man” is a diverse EP that crosses over genres and topics. It shows the versatility of Matthew Radics as an artist. It’s worth a listen. Check it out. Share and comment if you like it.Track list:
