Doctors Darling Riddim Driven [2004] (Germaica Records)

Art Cover - Doctors Darling Riddim (2004)

Riddim Driven: “Doctors Darling Riddim,” produced by Germaica Records in 2004

The “Doctors Darling Riddim” was released as part of the mythical Riddim Driven  series in 2004. It was produced by Pierre ‘Enuff‘ Baigorry, Jerome ‘Tchamp‘ Bugnon & Leander ‘Pionear‘ Topp in behalf of Germaica Records. The “Doctors Darling” was inspired by Taxi‘s 1982 “Night Nurse Riddim”, which featured Gregory Isaac hit song of the same name.

It’s a sweet and laid back Modern One-Drop riddim. The rejuvenated version, brought by the German producers in 2004, casted an additional horn section, which makes the riddim stand out even more. It’s a truly well produced riddim that ought to be heard. It features Tany Stephens‘s excellent “It’s A Pity”, Luciano, Capleton, Sizzla and many more. For the record, the VP Records’ “Riddim Driven” series includes more than a 100 riddims. It’s a must-have in your Reggae music collection. So make sure you get this issue if you don’t have it yet.
