Riddim Driven: “Buy Out Riddim” produced by Tony “CD” Kelly for K-Licious Records
In 2002, at the dawn of the new millenium, the “Buy Out Riddim”, produced by Tony ‘CD’ Kelly for K-Licious Records, was released as part as VP Records’ mythical compilation series “Riddim Driven”.
Features a good line-up
The various-artist rhythm album features Voicemail, Beenie Man, Notch, T.O.K., Mr Easy, Mr Vegas, and more (Click here to view track list).
It includes Sean Paul‘s club banger “Like Glue,”which was also featured on his sophomore album “Dutty Rock,” and Notch‘s hit song “Nuttin’ Nuh Go So” amongst others.
A classic riddim
Like the “Bookshelf Riddim”, this is another classic riddim that Tony ‘CD’ Kelly brought to the Dancehall legacy. You must have listened and danced to it at least once in your life time.
It has not been recut as much as the classic 1992 Sly & Robbie‘s “Bam Bam Riddim” that was inspired by a song of the same name recorded by Toots and the Maytals in the 60’s, and has been remade over and over again during the past decades. But you know at some point, even until now, you will eventually buss a “Pon Di River” when it hits the club.
Released as part as the “Riddim Driven” series
