Strange Things happen on Friday night… check ou the “Strange Things Riddim” #FlashBackFriday #TGIF

I’ve never had enough of the sweet sound of Reggae music…

Last weekend I have had the pleasure to see Chezidek in live concert (review coming soon) and the last song he performed happened to be “Bun Di Ganja” on the 2009 version of the “Strange Things Riddim” produced by Irie Ites. So, I thought it would be great to share it with you this Friday.

The One Drop compilation features a great palette of artists including Sizzla, Lutan Fyah, Jr Kelly. It also featured an exclusively brand-new version of John Holt‘s single “Strange Things” recorded by Irie Ites.

The original version on which John Holt originally performed “Strange Things” was released in 1971 and produced by Studio One. It was one of the first singles he released as a solo artist.

Mellow and slightly bluesy. It’s a really great remake and John Holt‘s new cut of “Strange Things” carries a certain melancholia emphasized by subtle dub delays. I hope you’ll enjoy this riddim as I much as I do. Do not hesitate to share this post if you like it.

01. John Holt – Strange Things
02. Trinity – Strange All Over The World
03. Sizzla – Revolution
