He was performing since from early on in Kingston, Jamaica. Owing to his talent, he caught attention of several record producers, which later provided him with a proper incentive to pursue a career in the show business, a path that eventually led him to a solo recording debut.
In 1992 Screechy jumped in the wagon of the Ruff Entry Crew, that had in its roster hottest artists coming out of Brooklyn, such as Red Fox, Baija Jedd, Mr. Easy, Naturally, Nyke Fungus, Rayvon and the Grammy Award winner, Shaggy. Such an accumulation of talent under the patronage of Signet Record Label allowed the Ruff Entry Crew’s cats have their names imprinted on the musical map.
He pioneered in using yodeling over a reggae track. Climbing solidly up the star ladder after set of successful releases, he made his mark while collaborating with Red Fox on a successful song “Pose Off” that dominated the reggae charts right off. It became a big hit in the reggae music industry followed by various tours around the globe. It was a matter of time, till he was recognized by a major record label Polygram Records.

1993 was distinguished by a new transformation of his technique through donning a rapping style with a reggae-type flow on the hip-hop single “Boomin In Ya Jeep,” produced by the legendary Todd Terry and Kenny Dope. In 1994, Screechy wrote and performed a song for the OST of the hit movie “Sugar Hill” which cast boasted with the likes of Wesley Snipes. Such gifted artist will continue shining in the night sky among other bright minstrels on the reggae night sky. His versatility, creativity and powerful performance undoubtedly solidified him in the hearts and minds of reggae fans as NYC’s #1 Dancehall Entertainer.
