Throwback of the week: Johnny Osbourne aka Mr Buddy Bye
Former lead singer of the Wildcats, Johnny Osbourne also known as Mr Buddy Bye is a Jamaican Reggae artist who rose to success in the late 70’s. He was mostly active during the 80’s. With his warm voice and a flow as smooth as silk, he delivered some pretty soulful Reggae music and a great amount of rub-a-dub tracks. The success of his sophomore Roots Reggae album “Truth & Rights”, produced by Studio One, was undeniable. However, one of his most popular hits happen to be “Mr Buddy Bye” recorded on the classic Dancehall riddim “Sleng Teng” produced by King Jammys.
