Tarrus Riley & Whippa Demus gotta make it right for this “Special Occasion”
Those who have got Tarrus Riley‘s album “Love Situation” earlier this year have already heard the track “Special Occassion” featuring Whippa Demus. It’s a chilled rocksteady love song voiced on the “You Don’t Care Riddim”. You may notice the old school vibe of authentic rocksteady in this track.Indeed, the very first cut recorded on this riddim was “You Don’t Care” made famous by The Techniques in 1967. A couple of years ago, Joe Fraser remade this riddim and added a horn section that gives it a unique feel and groove. The latter version featured the hit song “Every Way” by Courtney John.
