It’s been a great start to the year when it comes to Reggae & Dancehall. There’s a lot of new music coming out and there are producers stamping their place in the culture. One such team is “Iza Young Boy” and the stalwart stewardship of “Ferdy”. The brain behind it all. The one who gave us “Destiny” by Pressure Busspipe. He did works with “Bling Dawg”, produced with Push A Yute Inc. He has done an array of great works.
Now his latest project is rolling out. He has a single compilation project titled “Dat Is It Riddim”. It’s an uptempo hard dropping Dancehall that gives homage to the Dancehall greats and the sonic that made the genre what it is.
Tracks like “Lucky Brand” by Delly Ranx. Song reminds us why Delly is still one of the best as a wordsmith and one with the ability to deliver a hit.
“One & Only” is one more track that has be recognized as one of those. It’s a creeper. Anthony Malvo is still one of the most distinct cadences in Dancehall.
“Bus Stop” by “Da Proffesor” is also a mark and testament to the vision of this hard bouncing by joyful instrumental.
Go grab a copy. Go stream some hits. Go and partake with the some of the greatest to ever do it. The release date is set for April. So Spring it is.
Dancehall is here and at this rate we’re gonna see and hear a lot of it for 2025.
