“My Moesha Riddim”, produced by M-Phatic, in 1998
The “Moesha Riddim” was produced in 1998 by Steven Ventura for M-Phatic Music. It’s a various-artist compilation, which features Elephant Man, Cecile, Singing Melody, Merciless and more. Those who are familiar with 90’s-00’s R’n’B will probably notice that Brick & Lace‘s track is a cover of Brandy & Monica‘s 1998 single “The Boy Is Mine.” And if you pay attention, you’ll also notice the riddim is a remake of that single’s beat.Ghost‘s track “City Lock” is interesting too. As you may have noticed, the latter has been covered by Elephant Man in 2001 on the “Diwali Riddim.”It’s quite a typical late 90’s Dancehall riddim with with a heavy bass line. Though it’s not the best of 1998, it’s quite decent. For instance, “Choppa” by Tanya Stephens is a pretty mad tune. So, if you check it out, do not hesitate to comment below. Let us know what you think of this riddim.
