Various versions of the “Answer Riddim” from the 90’s and early 2000’s
“Never Let You Go” by Slim Smith & The Uniques probably was the first version of the “Answer Riddim.” “Never Let You Go” was produced by Clement “Coxsone” Dodd, for Studio One in 1967.
In 1973, it was made famous by Dillinger‘s track “Answer My Question” produced by Bunny “Striker” Lee.
Also known as the “Never Let Go Ridim,“ this riddim has been massively used and remade during the past decades. It’s probably one of the most recut and sampled riddims of all time.
We bring you a 22-track compilation of songs off this classic riddim from artists such as Capleton, Frankie Paul, Supercat, Dennis Brown, Buju Banton, Marcia Griffits, Bounty Killer and many more.
