We live in a world of superficial artists, sales and commodities. Basically products that don’t live up to the test. Or the artist that sings about peace, and in a next breath he’s leading troops to war. The question of authenticity comes to mind and in play. Music is entertainment and so musicians, producers, singers jobs are to enlighten or engage you in whatever so you can escape your world and your problems. Even if it’s three minutes at a time.
Now let’s talk about raw sheer entertainment. The one that lingers on the streets, found in your everyday barber shops. Sometimes like memes, slangs and spoken words. Let’s look at “Rich Badness”. If RichKingBreezy isn’t the godfather of it, then I just don’t know who is.
Yes “RichKingBreezy” is the name and he’s been living it vicariously through his kids which he is very very proud of. He mentions them every chance he gets. Then there are those who see it as a stunt a prop. Something to excite the crowd for a minute. We’ve been following this urban star for the past four years. He’s been living this way and preaching on this for a while now. The question is really what does it mean. What is really “RICHBADNES”. It seems to be a term thrown around losely now in Dancehall and among the streets and every garrison. Well we went straight to the source. We sat down took time out and chopped it up with “Rich Kid”, “Rich Boss” the man himself Rich KingBreezy who actually coined the slang. This is where it all started.
“Rich is a lifestyle. One I’m trying to get my children to also aspire to. My riches are in my children. God has blessed me with two lovely children and the opportunity to make them happy and show them it’s ok to work hard. It’s ok to want the finer things in life.” This is just some of the high points that make up the rich badness persona. Now for the real somewhat negative but real part. “I’m willing to die for my children” that’s the badness part. I’m here to protect and look after them. Teach my son to be a man and teach my daughter how to become a young lady and support her in her dreams. So that’s the definition of “Rich Badness”.
Now as for the personality. Breezy is thankful that he’s supported and surrounded by a solid management team. Push A Yute which has had his back from day done. The team immediately was attracted to KingBreezy because of his work ethic and natural stardom. As explained, “it’s hard not to recognize Breezy as a star, and he always the first at studio and the last to leave”. So with that infectious work set and him wanting to be great, it’s easy to see why his hard work is paying off now. “ILU” who is head of Sky Heights Records sees this as a great opportunity as they prepare to work on one of his latest singles.
With all this we can safely say the team is ready. RICHKINGBREEZY is ready. Rumours are that the EP is on its way. Productions from Anju Blaxx, Makonnen and other billboard and grammy producers. So with all the new found fame, it’s a now. New slangs, new songs and globally ready. The wait is over.
